Dr. Hussein Gamgoum was graduated from Ain Shams Faculty of Medicine in in Cairo, Egypt in 1992 and completed his residency training in plastic surgery in 1997.
He then decided to travel to France for five years in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux and Nancy, until the end of 2004, to complete his training with an elite group of the world renown surgeons in cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries. He also specialized in facial and skull surgeries. Among those was Dr. Vladimir Mitz, a pioneer of facelift and rejuvenation surgeries in the world and the first to describe the expressive muscles of the face (SMAS), in addition to his excellence in aesthetic breast surgeries, and he has written books on them. Another pioneer was Dr. Daniel Marchac, who is credited with the development of craniofacial and upper face surgeries after the great surgeon Paul Tessier, has written books on nose surgeries and breast surgeries, and the great surgeon Dominique Martin, who has vast experience in reconstructive surgeries and was the first to perform surgery on a patient in space. He has distinguished research with NASA.
Dr. Gamgoum returned to Egypt to work in the largest teaching hospital in Cairo, then traveled to work in the most prestigious hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
Dr. Hussein decided to immigrate in 2013 to Canada and worked there for ten years until 2023 when he decided to return and settle in Egypt and practice his surgical activity there.
Dr. Gamgoum believes that every person has a share of beauty and the surgeon should show the patient how to highlight it, but he alone is the decision-maker regarding his own body. The surgeon should only help the patient make the decision that suits him, but the doctor does not have the right to do what he sees as best for the patient. One of the common mistakes in our Arab world is that the doctor considers himself as the patient's guardian, doing what he sees better with his own eyes, and the best decision the doctor can make is to refuse to perform the surgery if there is a significant difference between what the patient wants and what the surgeon can give him .
Beauty is relative and varies from one society to another, and from one era to another. Tiny lips were a symbol of beauty in the past, and very large breasts may be a symbol of beauty in one society than another .
From Dr. Hussein Gamgoum's perspective, the magical touches of a distinguished plastic surgeon are natural And not overly noticeable Face and neck rejuvenation surgeries or post-weight loss surgeries are to restore the patient to what he was like during his youth or before obesity Cosmetic surgeries may be also for a functional purpose or for health treatment in addition to the aesthetic appearance that restores the patient's self-confidence.
How many patients suffer from pain in the back and shoulders due to severe breast enlargement or severe sagging of the abdominal wall.
The scalpel is not the only solution. There are other non-surgical methods that may be better for some cases, but surgical treatment is often the fastest and most effective and its positive result lasts for longer periods
